WATCH JULIE’S WELCOME VIDEO HERE

Meet Julie Kapsalis MBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Nescot Julie grew up just outside Epsom, so this college and community have been part of her life for years. With over 20 years’ experience in economic development, skills and enterprise, she’s led Nescot to a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, and built brilliant partnerships with local employers, from the cruise industry to Epsom Downs Racecourse, opening real doors for students. In 2026, her hard work was recognised with an MBE for Services to Economic Development, presented by the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle. But ask Julie what matters most, and she’ll tell you: seeing students and the local community thrive.

ALEX “The course is very interactive, and the facilities are good. It

helps that the tutors have industry experience, as you can discuss both course related and job queries. I would recommend this course, it’s worth having a hands-on skill where you’re able to see the difference your work makes. It was great participating in SkillELECTRIC and good experience working in a fast-paced environment under pressure.”

“My course involved studying customer service, hospitality and catering. I particularly enjoyed cooking and being with my friends. The teaching is very good, and my tutors are really understanding and supportive. A highlight for me was getting the chance to do work experience at the British Heart Foundation, which gave me lots of confidence like learning how to get the bus. I’m excited to continue my learning journey at Nescot.”
