BEST BRAINS
Best Brains is a Virginia-based enrich- ment program that improves students’ academic growth. Every week, students learn from board-certified teachers in an interactive, fun environment. The program is designed to teach not just memoriza- tion but also analytical and critical thinking skills, with new topics introduced every week. This approach encourages lifelong learning and application. “We try to ensure that the student gets the concepts, so once the concepts are clear,
then the problem automatically gets solved,” said Satish Vellanki, location head at Best Brains. With a low teacher-to-student ratio, instructors can give students individual- ized focus on their math, English, abacus and general knowledge skills. The learning approach extends beyond the classroom to summer camps, after school programs, winter camps and more — but the main focus is on academics. One of the most important parts of a school is the learning environment that students experience. This is why Best Brains appre- ciates the flexibility of St. John Properties flex/R&D space. The space planners at St. John worked with Best Brains to create an efficient floor plan allowing school leaders to set up class space in the best way for the children to learn. The flexible spaces allow teachers and staff to give students the comfort they need to learn. “The design of the class- room will make the child feel more at
home, rather than at a different facility in the absence of their parents, and [in] a good environment for them to concentrate on the subject matter,” Vellanki said. For Best Brains staff, St. John is reachable, which is also important to the school’s success. “There is someone to guide you if you have a maintenance issue,” Vellanki said. The staff provides thorough customer service for any problems tenants may have. St. John Properties works as a team with the school administrators to make certain that Best Brains has the best learning environment possible.
