For most of my adult life, I have been privileged to be a part of the Miami Jewish community through my volunteer work with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. When I was born, the State of Israel did not exist. I have always believed that an accident of birth gave me the opportunity to do whatever I could to help guarantee the traditions and continuity of our Jewish people. Needless to say, all the miracles (and I do believe in miracles) that we helped to create would never have happened if we were not united through our Federation.

Globally, I have witnessed Operation Flying Carpet which helped to save Iranian and Iraqi Jews and I have witnessed Operations Exodus and Moses, which brought Russian and Ethiopian Jews to Israel. Locally, I had the honor of working with the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center (MARJCC) on the Sanford L. Ziff Campus for more than five years.
