• We collaborated with Exempt Association on many fronts this year including o Reformat of employee of the month recognition for all staff to ensure every recipient is celebrated. Some benefits of the new format include: § Ability to invite family, friends, and co-workers § Professional photos § Individualized recognition by cabinet members of the winners from their division § Recognize all winners regardless of status aka exempt vs classified § Catered refreshments o We requested additional funding to support the new Employee of the Month format and to ensure we have enough funding to recognize both groups. o We hosted Budget Summits where staff could ask questions before the main Budget Summits were held • We represented classified staff at NWCCU • We are working on a request to obtain Employee Summer Tuition Waivers to match what represented staff bargained for and will receive. Currently classified staff cannot use employee tuition waivers during the summer session. • We have started preliminary research on bereavement for classified vs exempt staff. At this time if the same type of family member were to pass for an exempt and classified staff member, exempt staff
