Lucien Campeau a été ordonné prêtre vendredi dernier dans la soirée, à l’Église Saint-Pierre Apôtre de Hawkesbury. Durant la cérémonie, plusieurs rites ont été accomplis avec l’aide de quelques 28 prêtres, présents dans le chœur de l’église, ainsi que Monseigneur Berniquez, originaire de Hawkesbury. Le nouveau prêtre officiera désormais à l’église Saint-Pierre Apôtre de Hawkesbury. Lisez l’article complet dans le prochain numéro du Carillon. CUWPR will continue to work in partnership with local agencies and service groups to identify what are the greatest needs in the Prescott-Russell region for Centraide/ UnitedWay support.The Hawkesbury office of CUWPR will continue to operate as the contact point for Prescott-Russell. The benefits, Vaillancourt said, are that CUWPR and the other United Way agen- cies taking part in the amalgamation will be able to pool some of their resources and also share their expertise in fundraising and organization to better serve their own com- munities.

Several of the UnitedWay agencies in Eas- tern Ontario are going to become even more “united”, in the sense of a tag-team amalgamation process now underway to help them all better serve the families in their local communities. Denis Vaillancourt, chairman for Cen- traide-United Way Prescott-Russell (CUW- PR), met with the United Counties of Pres- cott-Russell council (UCPR) during its Nov. 23 regular session, to explain how the current amalgamation process between CUWPR and its counterparts in the City of Ottawa and the counties of Renfrew and Lanark, will be a good thing in the long run and without any sacrifice in support to local projects and programs which help out communities and families. “This is a very positive action,” Vaillan- court said, “to maximize the resources we
