BUSINESS SERVICES NOEL CORREA EUS Asset Administrator, IM-Infrastructure Noel is the unsung hero of the Hospital. When equipment was needed to set up a clinic at the San Diego Convention Center, Noel found and kept track of it. Same for the Hospital’s COVID clinic. Noel is applauded for his quick response, resourcefulness, out-of-the-box thinking and sense of duty—and he does it all with a smile.
JACQUELINE ANITA SMALL Medical Social Worker (LCSW), Social Services Jacqui has exceeded expectations for years. She provides extra support, and every social worker has admired her in-depth clinical skills and outstanding documentation. At times when others might lose composure, Jacqui stays steady. Her humor and tenacity put anyone she works with at ease.
NICOLE MARIE ELLIOTT- HERRMANN, RN Clinical Nurse II, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Services
Nicole embodies compassion, respect and empathy regardless of the challenges she faces. As charge nurse she may be pulled in many different directions, but she maintains a calm presence and enthusiasm that are mirrored by her co-workers. Through Nicole’s leadership and support, CAPS and its staff will continue to have a positive impact.

CARLOS DELGADO Senior Media Relations Officer, Marketing & Communications Carlos is a media expert and has done an incredible job of sharing Rady Children’s staff and patient stories with the public—in English and Spanish. He even serves as a reporter, photographer and videographer on occasion. Carlos has brought international media attention to the Hospital’s programs, ensuring that it accurately portrays our commitment to the community.
The trust a child puts in an interviewer is invaluable, and Daisy welcomes patients with compassion and respect. The kids who come through her unit are some of the bravest, and Daisy helps them feel supported, heard and safe.
LUISA CANALES Child & Family Specialist, Trauma Counseling Luisa has worked with the Chadwick Center for Children and Families for over 20 years. She’s often the first face overwhelmed families see, and she works diligently to connect them to mental health, legal and housing resources. She treats each and every client with kindness, respect and empathy.
AUXILIARY MEMBER OF EXCELLENCE KAREN HAAK Karen has been a member of the Auxiliary for over 25 years. She is someone you can always count on; her smile and “never say never” attitude are appreciated by all.
NATOSHA RODRIGUEZ Pharm Tech, Retail, Endocrinology Natosha works with families of diabetes patients to better facilitate insurance approvals. She’s also single-handedly streamlined technology and medication applications to reduce administrative burden on her team members. Her coworkers say that without Natosha, their clinic would fall apart.
JORDAN YOUNGHUSBAND Senior HR Generalist, Human Resources Jordan spent several years with the
Organizational Development team before transitioning to the HR Partner team in 2021. She employs her logistics, data management, team-building and project management skills to improve systems and processes across the board. Her strengths have been a gift to the HR partners and the teams with whom they connect.
2021 CANINE OF EXCELLENCE ASHER
Melissa Schwartz and her bichon-poodle mix, Asher, visit patients and staff throughout the Hospital and at the COVID vaccine clinic, where Asher helps soothe anxious children (and adults). Asher is an instant crowd-pleaser, and he and Melissa work to create special memories for Rady Children’s families.
