SCOR Recognizes Local Producers

Broadway Booming continued No Dice Games,” says Virginia Armstrong, Executive Director of the Tillsonburg Business Improvement Association (BIA). “It’s good news for shoppers and great news for the Downtown.” Off-Broadway development includes the Lisgar Plaza (see listing on page 3), which is being renovated to accommodate existing tenants Little Ceasar’s Pizza, H&R Block and Q-Mart. The Dental Centre on Level One will also be relocating their offices to the plaza in early 2017. Industrial activity is also strong with Wise Line Metal Sales constructing a new 33,750 square foot facility on Clearview Drive in Southwest Tillsonburg and Xcel Fabrication & Design constructing a new 52,500 square foot facility in the same area. “Tillsonburg is definitely in the midst of a building boom right now,” says Chief Building Officer Geno Vanhaelewyn. “Our residential housing starts are higher than they’ve been in five years, and we’re seeing an influx of commercial and industrial investment on top of it.” Ontario launches online application for apprenticeships The Ontario Government has launched an online Application for Apprenticeship Training at www.employmentontario. ca. Prospective apprentices now have the option to complete their application online. The new online application should take about ten minutes to complete and the ministry commits to following up within two days of receiving an application from a prospective apprentice. Clients who may need assistance with the form can call the Employment Ontario Contact Centre at 1-800-387-5656 or to use the online chat feature on the website. The new online form is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to leverage technology to improve client service.
