The Kanmed BabyWarmer is the most baby friendly way to care for your babies. Only a so warm Water Mattress can substitute the warming efficiency of a modern incubator. When the baby is stable and the skin has matured it can be moved to the open Kanmed BabyWarmer. Parents can now easily get involved and practice the care of their new-born or premature baby. The important parent baby bonding and breast feeding is now much easier. Kanmed BabyWarmer is used in hospitals worldwide as a safe, cost effective and baby friendly alternative to continued treatment in the incubator. Thereby the amount of incubators required can be reduced saving money for other investments in the Neonatal Unit. The BabyWarmer is well documented in published medical studies.* Warm water contains a lot of energy. Therefore the baby cannot cool the water, so the baby’s skin temperature converts to the temperature of the water – making the Water Mattress the most efficient and safest way to keep a baby at 37°C. The Kanmed Water Mattress establishes a thermal balance with the baby so that baby can devote most of its energy to what is important – optimal growth, rather than using energy trying to keep warm. Another advantage – in case of power interruption the Water Mattress will keep the baby safely warmed for up to two hours, as the water cools slowly.

You can begin warming a premature baby on the Kanmed BabyWarmer from the moment baby is stable but still requiring minimal clinical intervention, such as light respiratory support! Select a mattress type that is appropriate for the needs of the baby. Insert the Heating Pad into the pocket under the mattress. Insert the mattress in the Kanmed BabyNest.Press start and adjust the temperature.When the Smiley on the Control Unit goes green the matt- ress temperature is right for the baby.
