Street Crime Team arrested a man for breaching probation conditions. Martin Brabant, 30, of Hawkes- bury, was also charged with possession of marijuana. May 22, the Street Crime Team spotted a

man who was allegedly trying to steal a bi- cycle on Main Street East. The suspect was intercepted and tried to flee but he was subsequently caught. Mat- thew Marcus Walker, 20, of Main Street, Hawkesbury was charged with theft and failing to comply with an undertaking. The bicycle was returned to its rightful owner.

The Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment is trying to identify a young woman who allegedly tried to use a bogus credit card at the Staples store in Hawkesbury in April. Police believe the suspect was using a false name when she tried to buy electron- ics at the store. When the woman’s identity was chal- lenged, she fled the scene. The woman is described as being 21 years old, 5'2" to 5'3" tall, with a dark complexion, black long straight hair, make-up on the eyes with a black eye line above them go- ing past the eyes. She wore black stretch pants, black blouse and long black boots. She spoke French with a foreign accent, not an English accent. Anyone who can identify this woman is asked to call Con- stable Yan Faille at 613-632-2729. Women charged with assault A woman has been charged with assault and mischief after police responded to a May 29 incident a home on Greenlane Road in Champlain Township. The woman was arrested after she allegedly arrested for assaulting a man and causing damages to her boyfriend’s residence. In the early morning of May 30, police were called to a Water Street residence in L’Orignal where a woman had allegedly assaulted her boyfriend. She was charged

Cre- ated by local artists, the banners, an ini- tiative of Le Chenail cultural centre, will also be affixed to poles onMain, Tupper, at Place des Pionniers and at the town hall.
