RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM
The Residential Addiction Treatment Program offered at Bella Monte Recovery Center is designed to create a solid foundation for a successful recovery from substance abuse problems and co-occurring mental illness. This highly structured program offers a comprehensive mind, body, and spirit approach that not only helps with these problems, but allows for treatments suited for a variety of client needs. Our series of assessments have been designed to determine the client’s primary motivation and incentive to get clean and sober. The overall goal of this phase of the program is to detox the client from drugs or alcohol and to begin teaching clients how to control their symptoms, reduce their isolation, and increase their social connections and communication with others. Each client is given a thorough individualized treatment plan to provide the groundwork for long-term recovery. If a client has undergone treatment in the past, our attuned staff build and expand on those experiences to re-create a foundation of recovery. from one or more of our credentialed therapists. We have our clients look at their substance abuse history, negative consequences, and other factors that influenced their decisions to drink or abuse drugs. During this time, they will participate in educational workshops, address issues such as substance abuse or co-occurring mental illness, develop coping skills, and begin learning how to preserve their recovery for life. AFTERCARE PROGRAM
In order to help our clients maintain their recovery once they leave the facility, our team begins aftercare planning the moment someone is admitted to our program. The aftercare plan serves as a recovery roadmap for our clients. We want to make sure each client is supported long-term and has an established support network. Our clients discover the power within them and will work hand-in-hand with our treatment team to take an active role in planning their aftercare. We extensively research all of the substance abuse aftercare options to ensure an appropriate match and then schedule appointments with the most respected treatment providers. We work with our clients to help them identify specific people, places, and things that pose a threat to their recovery. Clients are led through a series of exercises designed to help them understand the
relapse process, identify personal relapse triggers, and develop an action plan to avoid relapse. This level of planning and preparation can be the difference between sustained recovery and relapse. To further prepare themselves, clients participate in weekly relapse prevention sessions. During these sessions, they learn strategies to cope with the inevitable struggles that they will experience on their journey through recovery. Throughout the first year, a staff member will maintain contact with each client to ensure they are staying on track with their recovery. As these feelings intensify, users feel less need to use the drugs and alcohol that they used in the past to either create good feelings or dull bad ones. Exercise also boosts the immune system, which makes it easier to manage pain and other chronic conditions. Not only does this reduce the need for illicit substances and prescribed pain medications, it also makes it easier for users to manage or even reverse the eects of past abuse. MIND & BODY Our approach to substance abuse treatment addresses the whole client – mind, body, and spirit. he Extended Care Addiction Treatment Program at Bella Monte Recovery Center is the most important phase of your treatment experience and is designed to follow an initial 30-day residential program completed with us or with another facility. Our experienced team excels at building on previous treatment plans, identifying areas of growth, and making a new plan that will work. The length of our Extended Care Phase varies depending on each client’s individual progress. The goals of this program are to begin living a life of sobriety with support while continuing the therapeutic process with counselors and peers. During the Extended Care Phase, clients work with their Treatment Team to get at root causes of their addiction or dual diagnosis. We continually address ongoing recovery issues, communication skills, medication monitoring, dual-diagnosis issues, and participation in a 12-Step program. Our extended care offers a more structured environment than a traditional sober living home and is the best way to gain confidence in recovery-based skills for lasting sobriety. The program offers our clients the opportunity to implement their tools for sober living while participating in real world activities. We work with each client to identify recovery challenges and determine readiness for entry into a lower level of care with more autonomy. During this time, clients come face-to-face with their issues and how they have impacted their lives and the lives of those around them. Not only will our team of professionals work with our clients to help them develop strong coping and communication skills, but they will also work with client families to ensure they are prepared to support their loved one’s individualized treatment plan as they move forward into sober living and aftercare. ella Monte Recovery Center’s opiate treatment program is designed and dedicated to the process of helping individuals overcome their physical and psychological addiction.e Bella Monte Recovery Center’s clinical team is highly trained to deal with the challenges involved with opioid addiction and treatment. A controlled and medically supervised detoxication will be necessary and the intensity of withdrawal will depend on the duration and amount of opioid use. However, detoxication is not a complete solution. Most addicts will eventually resume using opioids unless they receive further help. Opioids enhance the eects of neurotransmitters in the brain called endorphins to suppress pain, reduce anxiety and, at sucient levels, produce euphoria. After any period of continual use, nerve receptors adapt to these drugs, leading to an increased tolerance. As tolerance and dosage increases, the brain ceases to produce its own natural endorphins. At this point, the abrupt absence of opioid drugs will induce withdrawal syndrome as the body tries to compensate. Symptoms include agitation, anxiety, tremors, muscle aches, hot and cold ashes, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Once this dependence has been established, the user is in a seriously high-risk situation. Professional help should be sought immediately.

Although heroin has been the long-time favorite among opiate users due to its high potency, prescription medications like Vicodan, Oxycontin (known to users as “legal heroin”) and the recently developed Opana are equally dangerous. What begins as legitimate pain management can quickly escalate into full-blown opioid addiction. As prescription dosages become insucient, users often utilize alternate methods of consumption including smoking, snorting, or intravenous injection, highly raising the risk of overdose or infectious diseases like Hepatitis C or HIV.
