Frontier Co-op was built on the belief that we have a responsibility to people and planet. Every day, we make a conscious effort to be mindful of our actions and the impact we have on our world.

RESPONSIBILITY to PLANET

At Frontier Co-op, we believe we have a responsibility not only to everyone involved in and impacted by our company, and to the communities in which we live and work, but also to the planet. We persistently aim to conduct business in a way that uses natural resources responsibly and minimizes our environmental impact. Our environmental sustainability efforts include the diversion of at least 90% of our waste from landfill and minimizing our emissions footprint through the use of renewable energy. Any energy used in our facilities that we’re not able to generate through our on-site solar arrays (Scope II emissions) are offset each year through the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs). Our indirect carbon emissions (Scope I and a portion of Scope III) are offset through the purchase of verified emissions reductions (VERs). Beyond our operational footprint, we believe the greatest impact we can have on our environment is to con- sume consciously, including eating organically and regenerative organically produced food. We will continually strive to make organic and regenerative organic production possible for more farmers and the food they produce accessible to more consumers – toward a sustainable food system that’s responsible to the planet.
