ELEVATOR MALFUNCTION
GUESTS TRAPPED IN AN ELEVATOR • Respond with a sense of urgency! Entrapped guests may be frightened or frustrated. • Notify the MOD and Security. • Contact your elevator service company and advise you have an entrapment event and need immediate response. • If you suspect guests may be injured or in peril, call 911 for emergency assistance. • A member of management or security is to stay with the elevator until trapped guests have been released. • Post an out-of-service sign on the elevator until repaired. NEVER attempt to rescue/remove anyone from a stuck elevator. Wait for the elevator maintenance company or emergency services personnel. Remember to apologize to the guests that were trapped in the elevator. This could have been a scary and traumatic event for guests and family involved.
