DEATH OR DROWNING IN POOL PRIORITIES 1. Sympathetic and discreet handling of distressed companions/staff 2. Preservation of the scene 3. Minimize disturbance to and involvement by other guests 4. Minimize media attention PROCEDURES 1. Immediate response by qualified/trained Associate to offer medical assistance 2. Contact emergency service (ambulance/police) 3. Isolate area 4. Ensure no dangers to other team Associates/guests 5. Provide all possible assistance to the emergency services 6. Prevent entry to the area by signage or Associate stationed at entrance 7. Record names of all persons who witnessed the incident 8. Retain any equipment involved in the incident 9. Comfort distressed family and friends 10. Super chlorination of pool if necessary due to bodily fluids. See BODY FLUID SPILLAGE in this manual.

Note: No hotel record, Associate statement, witness statement, lock Interrogation report, photographs, video tape or any other written documentation regarding the incident shall be released to law enforcement representatives, the medical examiner or the media without approval of the GM, VPO, and the corporate General Counsel. A subpoena may be necessary to obtain these documents. MEDIA Contact with the media concerning the Company’s position on any matter should be made only by the Company’s authorized spokespersons. Managers and Associates who are not authorized spokespersons but who receive inquiries from the media shall refer such inquiries to the General Manager who will immediately notify their Vice President of Operations aware of such inquiry. The President is the only person who can designate other Associates as authorized spokespersons of the Company.
