Dupuis volunteers her time as secretary of Arteast and is a member of the Orleans Art Studio Tour and a recently juried team member of the Kanata Civic Art Gallery. She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and has won several scho- larships and awards for her work in several di"erent mediums. !reads of Time characterizes the simp- lest, delicate strands of memories of a time past and a time so generously embedded in each stitch. !e Arbor Gallery is located at 36 Home Avenue in Vankleek Hill. !e Arbor Gallery presents a solo exhibi- tion entitled !reads of Time by Virginia Dupuis, from August 27 to September 20. Virginia Dupuis’s paintings of stitched doilies, afghans and tablecloths, pay tribute to the often overlooked craft of women’s handiwork. !e thread that runs through this exhibition is in recognition for simple traditions for those who pass on their skills. It is this continuity of enduring resolve that permeates the !reads of Time. Dupuis is a graduate of the Ottawa School of Art with a diploma in Fine Arts. She has been exhibiting her work professionally for a number of years. In her $nal year, she re$ned her oil painting practice by completing two

Susan Cornthwaite Grenier, Madeleine Rathweill, and Carole Renaud will be showcasing their work at the ArtXtra Exhibition, with a meet the artists on ‘Culture Days’ September 25, 26 and 27. #e vernissage will be on Friday, September 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. #e next exhibition on the agenda is Vankleek Hill’s Susan Jephcott fromOctober 3 to November 22, followed by Journée internationale des jeunes, a youth exhibition by elementary school students, on November 20 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
