Health & Wellness The Newsletter About Your Health And Caring For Your Body Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!
Summer has come to an end, school is back in session, and with that comes extracurricular sports and SPORTS INJURIES! We’ve all been there. From sprained ankles to ACL tears, all of a sudden your season comes to a screeching halt. One of our goals at JointCare Physical Therapy is to help injury stricken athletes return to their sport as quickly and safely as possible. We’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with athletes from peewee to the professional level. Each time is just as, if not more, rewarding than the last. As former athletes ourselves, there is no greater feeling than helping someone get back to what they love. One athlete in particular, is Michael. He will be going into his sophomore year at Hanover Park High School. Michael is one of many area high school athletes we care for. In particular, Michael is a two-sport, varsity athlete on both the baseball and football teams. Earlier in the year, towards the end of baseball season, Michael started experiencing back pain with running and hitting. Although he tried to play through it, he and his parents did not want this to be a reoccurring problem, so he began physical therapy in our Florham Park office. Over the course of the next couple months, we helped eliminate Michael’s pain through manual therapy and a proper stretching and strengthening regiment that will help him prevent injury in the future. Not only was Michael able to finish out his baseball season, he felt better prepared for football training camp. As Hanover Park football continues to win, we wish the best of luck to Michael and all of our athletes for a healthy and successful year!
