¼ " Ø SPARK PLUG TERMINALS AND SNAP-LOCK FITTING

Most direct spark igniters supplied by Fives North American have a ¼“ Ø terminal for electrical input. 4085 cables are available with a snap-lock fitting that clips onto this terminal to make the electrical connection. The terminal in type “H” and “W” connectors is located deep within the boot. The boot material is somewhat flexible and fits tightly around the igniter insulator when the terminal is connected. Because the type “W” boot I.D. is smaller in size, it works best on smaller diameter insulators like on the 10mm R240-2465 igniter used on pilot tips. The type “H” boot has a larger inside diameter and is more flexible so it will fit over slightly larger ceramic insulators.

The type “N” and “S” boots are made from a ridged Nylon material. Because the boot ID is larger and the Snap-lock terminal is mounted shallower in the boot, they fit on every spark plug with a ¼“ Ø terminal. Although they do not seal around the ceramic insulator, they still shield the terminal connection.

Type "N" boot

Type "W" boot

N: Standard right-angle boot for attaching to common ¼” Ø snap on spark plug terminals. Made from Nylon. It does not seal over spark plug insulator, but it will work with virtually any spark plug with a ¼” Ø snap on terminal. Maximum temperature 400 °F (205 °C).

S: Straight Nylon boot for attaching to common ¼” Ø snap on spark plug terminals. Made with the same construction as the "N" type boot (not shown).

H: High temperature right-angle boot for attaching to common ¼ " Ø snap on spark plug terminals. Made from silicone and designed to fit over the spark plug ceramic insulator. Maximum temperature 485 °F (250 °C).

W: Weatherproof right-angle boot for attaching to common ¼ " Ø snap on spark plug terminals. Made from silicone and designed to fit over and seal with the ceramic insulator of spark plugs (from .40-.50 Ø). Maximum temperature 400 °F (205 °C).

R240-2465 (has a small Ø insulator) is used in most North American pilot tips. Recommended boot = Type N, W, or H

R240-2100 used in most 4441 burners Recommended boot = Type N or H

4055 igniter (with a large Ø insulator) used in 4422, 4575, and many other burners. Recommended boot = Type N
