North American Oil Pumps

In addition to the pumps listed on Bulletin 8563/8564, the following oil pumps are also available.
All pumps have mechanical seals. The sum of oil pressure at the pump inlet plus rated pump outlet pressure should not exceed 250 psi. These same pumps are available with packings instead of mechanical seals--consult North American.
All pumps listed have coupled drive with coupling guards. Pump heads are fitted with integral relief valves. System relief valves must also be used. Heavy oil pumps are sized for 2500 SSU maximum viscosity; higher viscosities will cause overloading. Heavy oil pumps can be used for light oil, but at reduced capacity (see table).
If a recirculating pump is required, select a heavy oil pump large enough to handle number of gpm to be circulated. Model numbers apply to pumps exactly as described. For pumps which differ in any way, check with North American.
Electrical specifications of 8564-6001, -6002, -6003, and -6004 pumps are 115-230/1/60; all other pump motors are 230-460/3/60.

The oil pump set price dœs not include the starter switch or heaters. See sheet 8564-3 for the starter switch and heaters selection chart, if these items are required. These parts must be listed separately on the order and will ship as loose items with the pump set. They are not mounted or wired to the pump set assembly. When the oil viscosity is less than 38 SSU and pressures greater than 100 psig are required, the capacities listed for 38 SSU will be reduced due to
internal slipage; therefore, if the required pump is close to its maximum rating, choose the next size larger pump. Totally enclosed motors up to 1 ½ hp may be either TEFC or TENV, depending on manufacturer. Larger sizes are TEFC.
