him to walk the property with he and his client. A couple of days later, my Dad told me that Ken said if I ever wanted to make the transition to sales associate, to give him a call. A few months later, after finishing school and getting the right things in place, I reached out to him and he immediately set up an interview for me with Peter J. Murano, Jr., our senior executive director and we hit it off. Why I chose the com - pany, is pretty simple really. I’ve always been fascinated by learning new things and I like to surround myself with good people. What unique qualities and or personality do you feel makes you most suc- cessful in your profession? My easy-going, lightheart - ed, and confident demeanor. There’s certainly a time and place to be serious and some- times there is a need to break the ice and make clients feel comfortable and relaxed while speaking with them.

I’ve always had a friendly yet very confident attitude in my life. People like being at ease because sometimes life can be stressful. However, I feel that there needs to be balance, you can be at ease with a client, but you have to know what you’re talking about when their livelihood is in your hands. I feel that I have a nice common ground. I’ll get the job done and I am one of the most honest people you’ll meet. If I don’t know the answer, I don’t pretend to. But I will let my clients know that and get the answer for them. It may sound corny, but my advice would be to work hard and work smart. The universe rewards hard work. People reward hard work. If you don’t know the answer, find it out. If you have a bad experience, learn from it. If you feel like giving up, ask for advice. Know your worth and be a good person and eventu- ally everything will fall in into place. MAREJ

industry? I would say my personality. I take pride in making clients and other brokers that I meet in the field, feel at ease. I’m a happy guy and like to make the stressful process of buy - ing or leasing a building a fun and enjoyable experience. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? To start with, my Grandpa. He passed away 11 years ago but what he taught me, I remember all the time. He was so instrumental with instilling my good values in life. He constantly would remind me that your most important asset in your life is your good name, so don’t screw it up. I really took that to heart. That’s the main rea - son that I pride myself in my honesty – I’m professional yet always friendly. More recent - ly, my strongest influence has been Jason Crimmins,

Blau & Berg’s president. He’s been the driving force since I started, and he constantly motivates me with advice and guidance. He always knows when I need a day off or a pep talk and I can’t thank him enough for that. What impact has social media/networking had on your career? Not much to be honest. I think there’s a lot of people out there that try to promote themselves on social media and it gets a little too over saturated. There’s nothing wrong with that and all the power to them if it works, but it’s never been who I

am. Maybe I’m an old soul at heart, but I value the per - sonal relationships I make with people without a screen between us. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current posi- tion and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? I started off managing my father’s real estate, while finishing up college a little later than normal. My dad listed one of his industrial spaces in Edison with Ken Crimmins, our CEO and Ken took a liking to me when I met
