PASTORAL CARE Jacobs House

Luke Hearne 2nd Junior Javelin Josh Durant

Ben Breitmeyer as Head of House. He was very ably assisted by his peers, particularly Deputy Angus Thorne and Prefects Yusef Elnahas and Jordan Braithwaite. They were integral to a special group of senior students who achieved a great deal, given the limitations of Covid-19 across three years. INTERHOUSE EVENTS Athletics Jacobs House impressed in athletics, with many boys competing in the heats. It was great to see the large number of red singlets across several events. Several boys qualified for semi-finals and finals for the championship days and all represented the House and themselves extremely well. The competitors were: Jordan Braithwaite, Harry Burt, George Cochrane, Matthew Lewis, George Ryan, Jackson Thomas, Angus Thorne, Oscar Wells-Swann, Charles Beale, Josh Durant, Max Howard, Finn McCormack-Young, Ollie Nicholson, Carlos Parker, Hayden Douglass, William Gifford, Luke Hearne, Henry Hiatt, Lucas Minehan, Fletcher Tapper, Ashwin

We welcomed 15 new Year 9 entrants and one in Year 11. All settled in and engaged well, making connections with others and getting a handle on the routines and expectations of College and Jacobs House. Initially, the year was disrupted by Covid-19, limiting some early activities. We also began the College Diploma for Years 10–11 and each student managed themselves and their schooling admirably. We are very proud of the boys for adjusting to the new ideas. It was great to eventually welcome families and events back, including holding the House Quiz Night and our combined House Dinner and prize- giving with parents in attendance. We could recognise the boys who had done exceptionally well during the year at the House prize-giving and also farewell our Year 13 group in front of their families. Our senior group was extremely well led by

All the hard work and commitment earned Jacobs House 3rd place overall in the House competition – an outstanding effort that made us proud. House Music The Parents' Association House Music event was held at the Town Hall – the perfect venue. Jacobs boys had been working hard on the House song for weeks and the backing band and small vocal group had also been focusing on their pieces. On the evening, which was full of entertainment and an array of talent, Jacobs set the standard as the first House to sing. Singing I was made for loving you by Kiss, the boys did a tremendous job. Led by Tom Whitteker as the conductor, the boys were backed extremely well by Sam Baynes on lead guitar, Josiah Rofe on

Thomas, Peter Beasley, Sam Cochrane, Finn Mayers, Darce Terpstra and Rylind Wheeler. From this large group, several claimed a top-three placing, including:
