GROUPS Debating
Debating in 2022 has attracted a good range of students across all year levels. As always, it is wonderful to see new junior debaters overcome initial trepidation and grow in confidence. At the same time, it is a pleasure watching the seniors hone their skills and deliver speeches in competition with conviction and panache. INTER-SCHOOL Competitions are hosted weekly during Terms 1–3 by the Canterbury Schools’ Debating Council. This provides the opportunity for schools across Christchurch to test themselves against one another to find the overall champion. Events were again disrupted by Covid-19 in Terms 1–2, but teams had plenty of time to become familiar with the
