competitions. These were the A team placing 3rd in the premier grade for boys in Canterbury, the B team finishing 2nd in a pretty one-sided final to Shirley Boys’ High School and the D team – of mainly Year 10 boys – coming 3rd in its competition. This team was 1st in pool play running into the semi-finals but was defeated by the 4th-ranked team, so had to fight it out for a 3rd or 4th placing, which it eventually won.
