Corfe Cup for service to the House and the ATM Moore Cup for fellowship William Jones It was a difficult year for any Head of House. However, William was calm and supportive of everyone, worked as a mediator, a problem solver and a supporter of all the boys. The Corfe Award for outstanding service to the House Oli Aikawa Oli was either in charge or played a key supporting role in all House activities. He is passionate about biculturalism and has led the Corfe boys to a deep understanding of the school haka and its meaning. The number of activities the Corfe boys have been part of both in and out of school is exceptional and too many to review in detail. It is great to see the Mackenzie boys continue to compete and have success in surfing, James Griffin reaching higher and higher levels of piano mastery, and many others part of very successful College teams winning local, regional and national titles. The growth of te reo and our bicultural focus continues to excite me heading into the future. I am very proud of how Corfe House is at the end of my 5th year. Our values of teamwork and giving our best are now almost adopted by everyone. In 2023, the focus is going to be on Growth and Contribution. Growth as an individual pursuing individual goals, but also the growth of the wider team. Contribution is about helping others, working together to have success as a group. This nicely follows the catchphrases
we use – such as “All in!” and “Let’s go!” – aiming to get the boys to participate and grow as a team. In 2023, we have Charlie Poulter (Head of House) and Tom Thyne (Deputy Head of House) leading Corfe, and I am confident they will build on all the good work done so far.
