TTEC 2023 Impact & Sustainability Report

Employee health and safety A prepared workforce protects everyone’s safety and well-being

Our training covers a range of simulated active assailant situations so employees learn the best course of action to take, whether it is to calmly withdraw from a potentially dangerous situation, take shelter quickly if unable to flee, or in the most extreme cases, defend themselves against an immediate violent threat. Tailor-made policy for Philippines Our employees in the Philippines are required to complete a six-course learning module that covers safety hazards and controls, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and compliance. To promote wellness, TTEC provides employees free, on-site clinics at most Philippines locations, where they can access annual physical exams, emergency care, wound care, vital signs monitoring, prescription management, health education, and more. Additionally, employees must comply with TTEC policies relating to HIV-AIDS, hepatitis B, tuberculosis prevention and control, dangerous drugs, and substance and alcohol abuse.

To protect our people and visitors, we promote awareness and education on an ongoing basis to keep everyone’s knowledge and safety skills current. Much of our training and testing is mandatory, ensuring our workforce is well-equipped to safeguard themselves, co-workers, and visitors against any type of threat. P3: Predict, prevent, protect In 2023, TTEC engaged crisis management firm BDO USA to develop and deploy hands-on, in- person training for our leaders along with digital courses for all employees globally. This TTEC- specific program — implemented at all levels in the organization — fosters a culture of preparedness for troubling situations and behaviors. The P3 Program is built on three key tactics: predict, prevent, and protect. Learning modules show employees how to assess behaviors and situations to determine risk level and take appropriate action as well as how to recognize when a low-risk scenario may suddenly escalate to high risk. Through digital simulations of active assailant encounters, employees practice de-escalation and other responses to stay safe both within and outside the workplace.

All reported workplace injuries, illnesses, accidents, and hazards are investigated.

Health and safety oversight that evolves and flexes TTEC’s Health and Safety committee reviews incident reports to identify hazards, proposes corrective measures, and provides guidance to help make safety part of the company culture. The committee is comprised of global leadership across legal, operations, people and culture, facilities, and sourcing. The welfare of our most cherished asset, our people, is paramount. TTEC revisits and revises its Health and Safety policies on an ongoing basis to ensure they address the full scope of potential risks and hazards in the workplace.

Understanding workplace violence and its many forms

Violence in the workplace can erupt suddenly. Sometimes the warning signals are there but go unheeded. Mindful of this, we urge our employees to be observant of their surroundings and make clear there is no such thing as good-natured bullying. Our zero-tolerance policy encourages employees to report any safety concerns they may have, anonymously if they choose, through our We Hear You (WHY) helpline.

TTEC’s unwavering commitment to a safe and healthy workplace is paramount. We proudly declare our intent to develop a more robust Health and Safety policy in 2024 to fortify our commitment to employee welfare and demonstrate our dedication to responsible and sustainable business practices.
