TTEC’s initiatives to minimize impact
TTEC works to minimize its impact on the environment in a host of other ways, some of which are modest but that build momentum over time. For instance, we embrace energy-efficient practices such as high- efficiency HVAC equipment, LED lighting, motion sensors, touchless fixtures, and building management systems that regulate energy use to reduce waste. We incorporate LEED guidelines as part of real estate due diligence so we can ensure decisions on new sites prioritize building efficiency and decrease operational costs. Through site surveys and audits, we develop recycling programs appropriate for each of our locations based on local circumstances and needs. We ensure environmental awareness is top of mind with our employees through periodic communications. We want them to be mindful that they play an important role in minimizing our impact on the environment and hopefully, these good practices carry over into their personal lives, too. In 2023, our brick-and-mortar headquarters footprint was reduced by 234,000 square feet with the move to our new headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colo., a suburb of Denver. As a result, we recycled digital technology through our partnership with Staples. 199,643 pounds of electronics diverted from landfills 186,144 pounds of electronics responsibly recycled 13,499 pounds of electronics diverted for reuse
TTEC employees volunteered their time in 2023 participating in activities to clean up, beautify, and expand green space in a number of communities: • Onshore cleanup in the Coastal area of Las Piñas and Parañaque, Philippines. The cleanup generated 1,576 pounds of trash to be recycled.
• Remulching and tree planting at Rose Memorial Garden in south suburban Denver
• Park cleanup and citrus tree planting in McAllen, Texas, where we adopted a local park and partnered with the City of McAllen and Keep McAllen Beautiful
• Cleanup along the coast of the Marikina River in eastern metro Manila, Philippines
• Litter collection in Krakow, Poland, on World Environment Day in June 2023
• Tree-planting event and recycling station to collect and properly dispose of used batteries at our site in Athens, Greece
• Clothing recycling events in Athens, Greece, and the United Kingdom
