UMADAOP CONFERENCE 2016

ATribute of Love to Jacqueline Rios-Jackson September 16, 1957 – August 16, 2016

Among the many gifts bestowed upon the UMADAOP’s (Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug abuse Outreach Programs) of Ohio throughout the years, Jacqueline Rios-Jackson was among the most special. Jackie, as she was known to most, joined the staff of the Youngstown UMADAOP (Y.U.M.A.D.A.O.P.) in 1991, shortly after graduating from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing. She was a mainstay in troubled communities – working 24 years for Y.U.M.A.D.A.O.P. as a Prevention Specialist. Jackie will forever be remembered for the loving way she provided guidance and served as a mentor to countless youth in the Youngstown City School System. The Needles Eye, a program for adults with addiction issues was also a favorite project of hers. Her assistance was especially valuable to the women enrolled in the program.
