Deux grands projets d’amélioration d’infrastructures ont incité la ville de Hawkesbury à demander un prêt muni- cipal à la province. Dans le cadre de l’une de ses dernières décisions avant la pause estivale en juillet, le conseil municipal de Hawkesbury a approuvé le règlement 42-2021 lors de sa séance du 28 juin. Le règlement autorise le maire et le tré- sorier à signer une demande à la Société ontarienne des infrastructures et des ter- rains (SOIL) pour un prêt de 8 425 000 $. L’objectif du prêt est de couvrir les couts de deux grands projets d’amélioration de l’infrastructure de la ville. Le système de réfrigération de l’aréna du Complexe sportif Robert Hartley doit être modernisé. Le cout de ce projet est estimé à 2,5 millions de dollars et serait couvert par le prêt. La station municipale de traitement des eaux nécessite également des travaux de modernisation coûteux. Le cout de ces améliorations est estimé à 9,5 millions de dollars. Le prêt de la SOIL couvrirait 5 925 000 $ de ce cout. La municipalité s’occuperait du reste des dépenses par d’autres moyens budgétaires. Some repair work is needed on one of Champlain Township’s municipal drains. Township council held a special July 14 session to consider two time-sensitive issues.
