Pedal power raises more than £10,000 The saddle soreness that would have been inflicted on two Gloucestershire businessmen on an epic charity cycle ride was all worthwhile, after they hit their £10,000 fundraising target. Dave Merrett, managing director of Merrett’s Heating Systems in Frampton-on-Servern, and Kevin House, a commercial account executive at Brunsdons, took to two wheels on September 13. Golfer’s driving ability wins him a car at charity’s golf day More than £10,000 was raised at the Nelson Trust’s fundraising golf day. But the headlines at the event were made by Chris Brown, who struck a hole-in-one and bagged himself a £25,000 BMW in the process.
