Steve Chaplin started his business in 1999. In the summer of 2017, the Hartpury-based company had landed the £90 million contract to connect almost 70,000 properties across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire to Gigaclear’s ultrafast full fibre broadband network. Mr Chaplin, now managing director at Complete Utilities, said: “This contract win will enable us to double in size over the next few years, making us a major player in the utility infrastructure industry.” Accounts filed in May this year for the year to July 31 2018 showed turnover grew from £21.5m and £25.9m. Staff numbers also rose – to more than 300. This year it won planning permission to expand its base at Overton Farm.Workforce is expected to grow to more than 500 in the next 18 months to two years l 47
