left the rugby pitch as a player some time back (for those who do not know he made his name with Gloucester Rugby and the British & Irish Lions, no less). But he has remained wedded to the game he loved, starting to build his travel business back in the 1980s. Today it is one of the leading sports hospitality, travel and event management firms. The business specialises in ticket-inclusive sporting experiences in both the hospitality and travel markets. The Mike Burton company has been an Official Licensed Operator at Twickenham since the inception of the programme in 2003 and operates the Chase Bridge Hospitality Village. It is not just rugby. In the summer, its attentions turn to tennis and the annual Wimbledon Championships. It has delivered leading prestigious sporting contracts for events including the RBS 6 Nations, QBE Internationals, the British & Irish Lions and RugbyWorld Cups. It has also successfully delivered the same programme at the last two RugbyWorld Cups. Turnover, as you would expect with a business linked to events which do not run annually, fluctuates.
