VALID8 LIMITED ENSURED THE HEATING AND VENTILATION SYSTEMS INSTALLED ACROSS THE SCHOOLS PROVIDE A COMFORTABLE, HEALTHY AND WELL- CONTROLLED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT… Heating & ventilation commissioning

Valid8 Limited (V8E) conducted the commissioning and balancing of district heating and ventilation systems across the schools. As well as setting and optimising pump speeds, the remit entailed commissioning and setting DRVs and PICVs across all heating circuits to ensure the systems operate efficiently and provide the required level of heating throughout the buildings. Also included were classroom heat recovery units and extract fans in classroom WC facilities, hall rooms, corridors, gyms, staff kitchens, meeting rooms, changing rooms and shower facilities. Thinus Jordaan, Director, says, “While this project is one example of our work, the importance of properly-commissioned building services in schools should not be underestimated. Our children and their education are among our most valuable assets, and providing them with a

comfortable, healthy and well-controlled learning environment is essential. “Effective ventilation helps maintain good indoor air quality by providing a continuous supply of fresh air and removing pollutants and excess CO₂. This can help create a more comfortable environment for students and staff, supporting concentration, alertness and overall wellbeing throughout the school day. “Likewise, properly balanced heating systems are essential for maintaining consistent and comfortable temperatures across classrooms and other occupied spaces. Commissioning the ventilation

and heating systems correctly ensures that these systems perform as designed, operate efficiently and provide the conditions needed for students to learn in a comfortable and healthy environment.” Thanks to careful planning and coordination with other specialist contractors, the project proceeded smoothly without major challenges. “We are proud to work alongside Kerrigan Mechanical and appreciate the leadership, professionalism, and quality they bring to every project,” says Thinus. “Their clear communication, organisation, and proactive involvement allow us to work efficiently and deliver our targets on time.”
