HEAT PUMPS

heating specialist has worked closely with Vaillant for many years, supporting the brand through product distribution, technical expertise and installer training. A key development within Vaillant’s latest aroTHERM range is greater flexibility when deciding where a heat pump can be positioned. Central to discussions on the night was Vaillant’s Flexible Space Function (FSF) – a significant development designed to provide installers with greater flexibility when positioning an outdoor heat pump unit. The new models use natural R290 refrigerant and incorporate Vaillant’s FSF, developed to reduce some of the installation restrictions traditionally associated with propane heat pumps. The technology minimises the safety area required around the outdoor unit, providing greater freedom when positioning a heat pump close to features such as windows, doors and other external building elements. This added flexibility could be particularly valuable on retrofit projects and properties where available outdoor space presents a challenge.
Alongside installation flexibility, the new Vaillant range has been designed to provide efficient heating and hot water with low operating noise. Vaillant says the systems bring together the heat pump and associated components as an integrated solution, while the latest units also feature a redesigned anthracite exterior. Glow-worm’s GeniaAir, meanwhile, features R290 natural refrigerant, is available in 5kW, 7kW and 11kW models and can achieve flow temperatures of up to 70°C, making it suitable for both new- build and retrofit applications. Designed with installers in mind, the range combines a compact design with quiet operation and flexible siting options. GeniaAir can also be paired with Glow- worm controls and hot water cylinders to provide a complete heating solution. The Guinness Storehouse event provided an opportunity not only to see the technology first-hand, but also for installers and heating professionals to meet the teams behind the products. Vaillant described the Dublin launch as an opportunity to introduce its
latest products while reconnecting with customers and industry partners. For C&F Quadrant, the launch complements its wider investment in renewable heating and training. The company recently upgraded its Dublin facilities, including dedicated training space for Vaillant and Glow-worm boiler and renewable technologies, as it continues to support heating professionals adapting to an increasingly electrified market. With the first units already making their way into installations around the country, the event marked an important next step in bringing Vaillant’s latest generation of heat pump technology to the Irish market. “The Guinness Storehouse event provided an opportunity not only to see the technology first-hand, but also for installers and heating professionals to meet the teams behind the products.”
