• Educated to degree level or equivalent. • Chartered Member of IOSH. • Extensive senior management and leadership experience in a complex organisation and management of multi-million pound budgets. • Demonstrable experience of delivering health and safety management initiatives that drive organisational change. • Successful track record of delivering health and safety performance improvement in a complex, multi- disciplinary environment. • Extensive experience of engaging with external stakeholders, representing the organisation at senior level in both industry and cross-sector forums. • Experience of developing an integrated management system approach; ensuring health and safety forms an integral element of organisational thinking. • Experience of health and safety delivery in an operational and a construction programme environment.

• Excellent understanding of health and safety management systems in a complex, multi-user environment • Proven ability to lead and develop staff, and create high performing teams • Demonstrable ability to take autonomous decisions and yet to escalate when necessary. • An appetite for creating change with a proven ability to innovate alongside tenacity to drive for results. • Exceptional ability to influence others, to communicate and explain complex issues in clear, concise, persuasive language both verbally and in writing. • Empathetic and with strong interpersonal skills. • Highly adaptable and flexible. Able to adjust quickly to new situations and changing priorities. • Excellent ability to lead others through complex problem-solving challenges. • Willingness to update professional knowledge and a commitment to continuous improvement. • Significant experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships including relationships with unions and regulatory bodies.

DESIRABLE

• Experience of working with Industry Working Groups. • Postgraduate Qualification. • Familiar with the HE context and environment.

CONTRACT INFORMATION Open-ended and full time working hours. You may on occasion be expected to work on weekends or evenings to provide escalation cover for critical upgrades, go-lives or University events.
