The post holder will provide key strategic input to the University Leadership Team, helping to establish health and safety as a core organisational priority. You will act as the university’s senior competent person in relation to health and safety and – as such – will be accountable for the implementation of an organisational strategy that is aligned with other core strategic priorities of the institution. A key focus will be to raise the profile of health and safety amongst senior stakeholders, ensuring they are able to demonstrate visible leadership of health and safety within their areas of responsibility. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in a health and safety leadership role across a large, complex organisation with a broad range of core activities. To be a success in the role, you will need to have high levels of energy, enthusiasm and dynamism, with the excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to operate influentially across a large organisation with a diverse range of stakeholder groups. This role represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to take up an influential and transformative health, wellbeing and safety leadership role at the heart of a successful, ambitious and growing organisation, playing a key role in influencing our reputation.
