The correct solution must balance wear life, screening efficiency, throughput, product quality and maintenance requirements.

QUICK TAKE
working on the screen.” Installation time consequently becomes part of the performance equation. A panel that lasts longer but takes considerably longer to replace does not necessarily provide the lowest overall operating cost. “A system that allows panels to be identified, removed and replaced quickly can provide considerably more value than extending panel life alone,” says Botha. It is an area in which Screenex has developed several solutions aimed specifically at simplifying the process.
Screening performance depends on the complete system, including media selection, aperture design, fastening, tensioning, deck configuration and maintenance.
A longer-lasting panel does not necessarily deliver lower costs if it takes longer to install. Faster replacement can protect production and reduce labour and safety exposure.
Designing out downtime The Screenex nipple pin panel
incorporates the sleeve into the panel, removing the conventional separate pin- and-sleeve arrangement. Replacement panels are easier to locate and install, while only one pin is required per fixing point. Its snap-on panel system removes conventional fixing pins altogether. Alongside faster installation and replacement, the system can provide more usable screening area, supporting drainage and throughput where the application allows.
Nipple pin, snap-on and pipe-top systems are designed to simplify installation and maintenance while potentially increasing usable screening area and reducing downtime.
Screening media needs to balance wear life, efficiency, throughput, product quality and maintenance requirements rather than simply meeting dimensional specifications.
