H ugh J. O’Boyle Ltd were entrusted by Galgorm Collection with the extensive refurbishment and remodelling contract for The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat. Works were carried out in several stages, with Hugh J. O’Boyle Ltd contracted to deliver phases 2-5. These phases included the refurbishment, reordering, construction of extensions and a new
of external balcony, bathrooms and redecoration of the venue. As can be seen in the accompanying photographs, a beautiful space to cater for such events. In Phase 3, Hugh J. O’Boyle Ltd carried out the refurbishment of the ground floor reception/meeting rooms, reordering of the rooms and replacing of floor finishes and electrical works throughout, as instructed by their client’s design team. The next stage – Phase 4 – involved the complete refurbishment of 24 bedrooms to ground, first and second floors. Works included demolitions, joinery, mechanical and electrical upgrade, new floor and ceiling finishes and complete
redecoration of the bedrooms and installation of new ensuites.
Phase 5 was the largest element of the overall project, comprising the reordering of the basement including major structural alterations, construction of walls, joinery works, electrical and mechanical services, floor, wall and ceiling finishes and external private courtyards to deliver a further nine bedrooms for the hotel. In conjunction with the above works, an extension was constructed to the hotel, providing changing facilities to service the Spa area. “The Spa was a major undertaking requiring extensive ground remodelling,” said Declan
