• Lead the Facilities Working Group to ensure a consistent approach to services, facilities and customer service across all campuses.
Budget
• Manage and deliver the operational budgets for the assets and services within their demise, including but not limited to personnel, third party delivered services, and demand based requirements. • Responsible for effective contractor, supplier and vendor management to deliver performance in accordance with agreed operating models and budgets.
• Responsible for competitive tendering, working in collaboration with the College Procurement Office.
• In conjunction with the Assistant Director Campus Operations, responsible for championing and delivering campus, minor works and innovation project budgets where assigned to the campus operations team for delivery. • Deliver value for money and sustainable cost savings - in line with financial forecasts, pre agreed savings and efficiency targets - through continuous improvement and innovative delivery programmes. • Monitor and regularly report financial performance for the services and estates assets with their demise to the Assistant Director of Campus Operations. Support the delivery of the utility budget, working with the Environmental Manager to deliver year on year energy and carbon reductions across the estate within their demise. Process & Performance Management • Ensure the Campus Operations Team complies with the College’s and Estates & Facilities policies and procedures, arranging training as necessary to drive compliance. Review local operating procedures annually and update them in line with changes to College operating standards and practices. • Monitor service performance and take appropriate action in case of failure or complaints; report performance issues to the Assistant Director of Campus Operations; communicate with stakeholders accordingly. • Implement effective service metrics, conduct trend analysis to inform business strategy and make data driven decisions. Responsible for the early identification and escalation of adverse trends. • Responsible for an integrated delivery model, working with Engineering Services, Capital Projects, Campus Projects, Infrastructure, Space Planning and Sustainability Teams to ensure a coordinated approach to works with limited impact on service delivery, the customer experience and the university’s operations. Follow Estates & Facilities protocols to achieve this (i.e. working practices and procedures). • Implement a programme of governance audits, and the results and rectification of any issues arising as a consequence. • Submit periodical business/investment cases that support innovation, sustainability, and student experience infrastructure works. • Responsible for effective stakeholder management, ensuring that services and projects constraints and requirements are clearly communicated to clients. • Actively support and promote the development and implementation of the Directorate/College wide Helpdesk for Engineering and Facilities Services.
Change Management
• Responsible for the delivery of effective change programmes as required by the strategy and plans of the wider Directorate, including appropriate planning, risk assessment and stakeholder engagement. • Identify and develop service improvements that meet the evolving needs of the student and academic community.
