Good news was given by executives of the company that because of the nature of BIOLA’s service, a special discount would be given. It is hoped that before the end of the Jubilee year, February 25th, the station will be on the air, broadcasting the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. : Application papers are now pending before the Federal Communications Com­ mission regarding a possible FM radio station in San Diego. The facility would be managed jointly by the Bible Institute and the San Diego Christian Broadcasting Association which is composed of Chris­ tian businessmen in that area. Pray that the Lord’s will may be done regarding this important venture of faith.

Mr. Ray A. Myers, Chair­ man of the BIOLA Board of Directors and Presi­ dent of Myers Brothers Construction Company, turns over the first spade of dirt for the Women's Dormitory building on the new BIOLA Campus. Working plans for the Library building are now being prepared by the architect, William C. Ull­ rich, A.I.A. The antici­ pated move to the La Mirada Campus is sched­ uled for September 1959.

Dr. Samuel H. Sutherland, President of the Bible In­ stitute of Los Angeles, Inc., flanked from left to right by Dr. Louis T. Talbot, Chancellor, Mr. J. R. Adder, Business Manager, and Mr. Myers, also turns over a shovel of dirt for the dormitory structure. The build­ ing will cost approximately $250,000.00 which will include all built-in fixtures for the students. Every dormitory room will have outside windows by each study desk, with single beds instead of the traditional bunk style.

On December 26, Dr. and Mrs. Louis T. Talbot will celebrate their 42nd wed­ ding anniversary. Prayers have been deep­ ly appreciated on behalf of Mrs. Talbot who has been ill for several months. Dr. Talbot celebrated his 69th birthday on October 19th with a special staff luncheon on October 17th in his honor. Speakers for the annual Torrey Mem­ orial Bible Conference have -been an­ nounced by the Rev. Thomas E. Steele, director of extension for BIOLA and head of the eight-day conference to be held in six Southland churches. Featured during the week, January 24-February 1, will be

program will include the opportunity for visitors to attend classes and “ sit in” with present day young people in various courses. * * * * * Regular Sunday afternoon rallies are being sponsored by BIOLA in two South­ land locations: Church of the Open Door downtown, and the auditorium of the BIOLA Campus in La Mirada. Meetings begin at 2:30 each Sunday and include the finest of gospel music, inspirational Bible and missionary speakers, and recent evangelical film releases.

Recently, the La Mirada development company commissioned a helicopter to fly over the fast-growing area of Southern California to survey various stages of building prog­ ress. The photograph above was supplied BIOLA since it showed the first completed buildings and the land which has been cleared for other structures soon to be erected. The building pictured is actually two in one. Not only does it include a large auditorium for Bible lecture classes, but also 17 other classrooms and 21 faculty offices. A 125- car parking lot adjoins the building.
