first MAcc student to publish a refereed journal article—“Fraud Brainstorming Sessions and Interviews in a Remote World: Initial Evidence”, co-authored with Dana Hermanson. It will be published in Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting . PH.D. Three students in the Ph.D. in Business Administration program graduated with accounting concentrations in May 2023. Two students have successfully defended their proposals and are gathering data to work toward their final dissertation defenses. Five other candidates have finished their coursework and are preparing for comprehensive examinations. All have identified dissertation committee chairs from the SOA faculty and are making satisfactory progress to defend their proposals. In 2022, BYU successfully ranked the research of our Ph.D. alumni in the top 100 in the world. Ph.D. alumni continue to be placed in AACSB tenure-track faculty lines.
