The vehicle was later located in a ditch, where the two occupants attempted to push the ve- hicle out. The female driver was so upset with her boyfriend that she grabbed and pulled his hair, report police. The driver refused assistance from paramedics and firefighters. Suspecting the woman had been drinking, police arrested the driver. Inside the cruiser, the woman smashed her head on the cage in the police car. A 30-year-old Hawkesbury man has been charged after a burglary was foiled by dépanneur employees recently. Martin Brabant was charged with rob- bery with intent and breach of probation after the incident which occurred August 10 at approximately 3:40 p.m. when a man entered the Variété du Coin” conveni- ence store on Lansdowne Street. The man walked up to the cashier and demanded money, saying he wanted $300, reported the Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police detachment. He was refused and told to leave the store. The suspect then threatened to harm the cashier if he didn’t get the money. The cashier alerted another worker who spoke with the man as the other cashier called police. The suspect then motioned that he would use a weapon if he didn’t get the money. The worker refused again and the man left the store. Officers arrested the ac- cused that same evening.
