Spektakl na Ostrvu slobode Spectacle on the Island of Freedom

„Sziget“ festival, jedan od najvećih muzičkih i umetničkih događaja u regionu, ponovo otvara kapije svog čuvenog ostrva, nudeći miks globalnih pop zvezda i neponovljive festivalske energije / Sziget Festival, one of the region’s biggest music and art events, once again opens the gates to its famous island, offering a mix of global pop stars and inimitable festival energy

S ziget is much more than a music festival – it is an in- dependent cultural republic that each year welcomes more than half a million people from over a hundred countries to Óbuda Island. Known worldwide as the “Island of Freedom”, it offers a non-stop programme over the course of seven days (running this year from 11 th to 15 th August) on dozens of stages that present the biggest names of the world’s pop, rock, electronic and alternative music scenes. Apart from music, the festival includes street theatres, art in- stallations and spaces to discuss human rights and ecology. The journey to this global spectacle is fast and comfortable. Air Serbia carries you from Belgrade to Budapest with its direct flight to Ferenc Liszt Airport. Travelling from there to the festi- val itself is extremely simple and wonderfully organised. Sziget emerged in 1993 as a small, modest student festival, with its founders wanting to create a meeting place after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Today, three decades on, Sziget is a mul- tiple winner of awards for the best major European festival and a place where top comfort, environmental awareness and pure musical magic come together.
