TrackerDBwasbeingutilizedonaprojectinwhichanewDCSsystemwasbeingimplemented. TheDCSsystemwasthefirstofitskind, andnaturalytherewereisuesthatneededtobe workedthrough. Over3,000varianceswereidentifiedonthisproject, andthereworkwasgoing tocausesignificantprojectdelaysandcostoverunsifnotmanagedproperly. TrackerDBwas abletohousealofthevariancechangesneededthatwereidentifiedbyDCSengineersonsite. ThehomeofficeengineerswouldthenlogintoTrackerDB, viewthevariancesandmakethe necesarychangesifposible, andpushtheinformationbacktothesite. TheDCSengineers wouldbenotifiedbyTrackerDBthatthevarianceshadbeenaddresedandthechangeswere implementedonsite. Thechangesthatwerenotabletoberesolvedwithoutbeingonsitewere morerapidlydealtwithwhenhomeofficeengineersmobilizedbecausetheyknewwhatthe isuewasandcouldworktowardsasolutionbeforetheyevenarived. Theprojectwas completedbeforeCODandunderbudget.
