TESTING & ETHICAL SOURCING
QUALITY & FABRIC TESTING WS Workwear garments and fabrics undergo rigorous testing to ensure they are fit for purpose.
ETHICAL SOURCING As a key Bunzl brand, WS Workwear is committed to the social, environmental, and financial sustainability of our manufacturing partners. In addition to ISO International Audit Standards, meeting our own WS Workwear requirements is essential for attaining and upholding the benchmark to do business. All suppliers and their factories must adhere to Bunzl’s strict Ethical Sourcing and Modern Slavery Policy. Our supply chain management processes ensure these products are manufactured and sourced responsibly. Our Ethical Sourcing Policy ensures that Bunzl sources products in an ethical and consistent manner. A key element is our Supplier Code of Conduct, which establishes our expectations for all suppliers in the areas of labour and human rights, environment, health and safety, ethics, and management systems. We have an assurance and quality control team based in Asia, which performs regular audits of our direct suppliers to ensure that they meet our standards in relation to human rights and conditions of work. The audits cover various aspects including child, forced or bonded labour, disciplinary practices, management of homeworkers and foreign migrant workers, freedom of association, wages, working hours and health and safety.
Our international production facilities have received accreditation under ISO 9001-2015.
WS Workwear fabrics undergo detailed testing processes before being approved to ensure that fabrics are the correct colour and meet required Australian Standards. Pre-production sample fabrics from new batches are rigorously tested to ensure continuity of our standards approval and quality. Product materials and components are of the highest quality, and our manufacturing and testing partners use state-of-the- art technology and equipment.
ADDITIONAL QUALITY CONTROLS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Samples of fabrics are retained for our records and comparison.
All garments contain labels identifying the fabric lot used.
Testing is undertaken in the fabric mills prior to dispatch.
Quality controls are maintained in our ISO approved factories by our accredited Quality Control team. Pre-shipment samples for final inspection and confirmation are sent to our Product Development team for checking and approval prior to shipment. Master samples of fabric and garments are also retained in our Quality Control department to enable future orders to be cross-checked for quality and consistency. A variety of tests are carried out on all fabrics to meet specific performance and safety criteria to comply with Australian Standards. AS/NZS 4602.1:2011 specifies the visual requirement for high visibility safety garments for occupational wear by people who may be exposed to hazard from moving traffic, moving plant or equipment in high risk situations and are directly related to consumer end use of textile products.
