How many of our young people are stepping out into the d ark er n igh t Of sin and despair in this evil time! Who will follow them w ith th e ir prayers? Who will bring them into the fold of God’s love? A Child Movie S tar This is the story of the conversion of a little girl known as the “Child Movie S tar.” F o r several weeks th is little girl attended th e Lyceum Club meetings on Tuesday evenings a t the Bible Institute. She was presented w ith a pocket Testa ment and a Gospel of John, but showed no in terest in reading either. She came to the prayer meeting of the Church of the Open Door one evening, where she saw and heard children as weu as adults, repeat texts of Scripture from memory and give the location of the text. She was asked to learn John 3 :16 and did so.

planned fo r Labor Day an outing th a t brought recreation, not only to the body, bu t to the mind and h eart as well. In th is age when lovers of pleasure are more numerous than th e lovers of God, it was refreshing to find a group of earnest young women giving them selves unreservedly for the other girls and young women of the town. The mothers likewise were present on this special occasion. Also a group of Ly ceum girls added inspiration with their presence. A delightful picnic luncheon was serv ed in one of the lovely parks. Songs, choruses and the reciting of Scripture verses featured the opening of the out door meeting. One of the Bible women gave an inspirational talk on “The Sur rendered L ife.” The beautiful su r roundings, the verdure-clad trees, the starry heavens deepened th e meaning of th e message and the purpose of the gathering. All came away conscious of the fact th a t God had drawn nigh and the only life worth while is the one su r rendered to the Lord Jesus Christ. A Bible woman saw a very pretty, neatly dressed girl on a suburban car. The strange behavior of th e girl led the Bible woman to fear th a t she was ill. F u rth e r investigation revealed the fact th a t the girl was intoxicated. An ,ear- nest conversation followed. The Bible woman plead with th e girl to let Jesus come into her heart. She promised th a t she would and w ith many thanks accepted a Gospel of John, whereupon she stepped out of th e car into th e dark night on th e streets of the city.

One day she' came to see the w riter and brought her some peaches. A fter talk ing on other subjects, the question was pu t to her as to whether anyone had ever asked her to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour? She said they had, and named two prom inent Christian workers, but she had not done so. She said she didn’t know why she hadn’t accepted Jesus. The way of life was then explained to her and a vivid word picture was drawn, for her of the awful doom awaiting those, who reject Jesus. When she understood th a t there would be no beautiful music in hell, no love, no white-robed angels, and th a t she could never be w ith Jesus in the future, she said she would accept Him. She kn elt down and in a simple little prayer received the Lord Jesus as her Saviour. The following week, she gave her testimony before the Lyceum Club, saying, “ I love Jesus Christ so dearly th a t I have given Him my h ea rt.” THE ONLY BOND WORTH HAVING,
