The people who know Him cannot help loving Him. The g reatest sorrow to contemplate is the fact th a t many Christians do not know Him otherw ise th an as a Saviour. Jesus was a homeless man. He had not where to lay His head. Foxes and birds were b etter off th an He, although He made all things (John 1:3) “A ll tilin g s w e re m ad e b y h im ; a n d w ith o u t him w a s n o t a n y th in g m ad e th a t w a s m ad e.” We can be assured th a t our Lord was glad to have the privilege of being in the home of these dear friends. He was human. He was tired. He loved fel lowship and craved it as we do. He loves it now. He is the Man to the glory, but He is the Man. One scene is laid in the home of His beloved friends,— Mary and M artha and Laza rus— th e trin ity of friends dear to His h ea rt and to whom He LESSON was very dear. This EXPOSITION is one of those home T. C. H orton pictures from which many precious tru th s may he drawn, and many precious sug gestions taken. (1) THE HOME AND HEART OF HIS FRIENDS, 10:38-42 “M artha re ceived him into her house.” Why does the apostle John say th a t Jesus loved M artha and Mary and Laz arus? M artha was evidently the eldest of the family. She was the hostess. She had invited our Lord to the home. We are not surprised, are we, th a t she natu rally desired to do th e proper hon ors to the Great Teacher whom th e mul titud es were following? Of course,
