When Lynn Heuss first came into the Livewell Clinic, she was suffering from persistent aches and pains and occasional, uncharacteristic bouts of anxiety. “I’ve never been a big proponent of using medication to address any of those concerns,” she says, “because it always seemed like it was more of a symptom-based — not a cause-based — kind of approach. When I went to an information meeting at Livewell and learned about their proactive approach to health, I was sold!" “It was very empowering to feel excited to have control over my health,” she says, “rather than simply waiting for some sort of malady to crop up and then react to it.” At the time, she’d been doing a lot of her own research into “alternative” and functional medicine, and though her traditional health care provider was interested in other approaches, Lynn felt limited by what they could offer her. “I like having everything available and having health care providers who are more focused on how to help me take the best care of myself, and not simply taking a ‘one size fits all’ approach,” she says. From day one with Dr. Zac, she experienced a huge paradigm shift and began to understand the inner workings of her body — and more importantly, how to become healthy from the inside out. “The most important things I’ve gotten are the knowledge and belief that I play the biggest role in my health and well- being, and that my health care professionals are there to support me. I know my body, mind, and spirit are getting healthier — sometimes even when I don’t always feel like it — because of my test results and because of how I am able to handle stress and make decisions to prioritize self-care for long-term benefits, rather than being convinced to compromise. I’m sleeping better, I’m comfortable with my weight, my anxiety is being addressed, and I have absolutely no major health issues.” We’re thrilled to have been part of Lynn’s journey toward lasting overall health, and we’re grateful she decided to seek out our services.
