sages o f the two-houtM“ India and Burma”-: session had to do with “ The Children of India.” ; Internationally known speakers were heard by the radio audience ; Prof. L. Levonian, Athens, Greece; Dr. Takeshi Ukai, Tokyo, Japan; Sr. Jose L. Graga, Rio De Janeiro; Rev. J. Gordon Holdcroft, Seoul, Korea; and others. Northern Baptists Loyal to Word T HE Northern Baptist Convention, according to all reports we have received, registered itself this year as overwhelmingly loyal to the old Faith and the old Book. As one Fundamentalist Baptist minister who was in at tendance said a few days ago : “ Throughout the entire program I noticed but one message with any note o f modernism. I was sorry that even one note had beep injected but in a convention of that size it speaks:jwell‘ for the! exeçutive^committee and the program committee that thé program‘ was s©: nearly' free from modernism. The Fundamentalist-Modernist controversy seemed to be almost forgotten. We were there as Christians, not to fight one another but to fight our common foe. That does not mean that the Convention was marked by compromise or that the demand for loyalty

to the great facts o f our faith was forgotten. TJie çontro- versy is not over, of course, but the past few years have demonstrated the fact that the rank and file of Northern Baptists, the vast majority of churches and members, demand of the Convention unswerving loyalty to the Faith once delivered to the saints and cannot place their con fidence in a program tainted with the poison of modern istic thought and practice.” The following subjects discussed reveal the general trend of the Convention: “ Evangelism, the Primary Task o f the Church,” “ What Price Discipleship ?” “ Triumphs o f Evangelism among Lonely People,” “ Evangelism in Our Colleges,"-“ Forgotten Folks and Flocks,” “ The Holy Spirit in Redemptive Service,” “ The Central Place of the Cross in World Redemption.” The modernist would labor under difficulties in dealing with such topics. If Opr Friends Only Knew Pascal once said, ‘JH all our friends only knevw what we said about them behind their backs, we would not have four friends left in the world.” . is this true o f the way we speak? If so, may it never be true o f us again. Some one said, “ Before repeating any story you should ask yourself, ‘Is it true ? Is it necessary ? Is it kind ?’ ”
