We find the main part of the work by John Stirling of “sterling worth.” It has many features to commend it to alert Bible students. It is a compact li brary o f exposition by great commenta tors. The writings o f Bible scholars of all periods of Christian history are repre sented. Unfortunately some of the intro ductory articles are written from the mod ernistic viewpoint. The opening articles o f the volume on Romans are by the Bishop of Winchester and Dr. James Moffatt. These concise commentaries can be obtained for $1.25 each. Other volumes will appear soonS-B. —-o— Sinking of the Titanic B y G. A. G riswood Mr. Griswood has collected much data regarding the Titanic and the disaster which sent this great "liner to the bottom in 1912. After bringing out many inter esting facts regarding the catastrophe, he gathers up some vital spiritual lessons and aims to show the unsaved the necessity of being prepared to meet God. While the booklet is gotten up especially for sailors, it will be found effective in many other cases. The narrative of John Harper’s last convert found just at the close—the story o f how a man found Christ while floating about in the ocean and was after ward rescued—makes a fitting climax. The booklet is nicely arranged, with some of Mr. Griswood’s own art work on the cover, and sells for 10$. Mr. Griswood lives at 3956 30th St., San Diego, Califor nia, and writes that those doing Christian work with seamen may obtain copies free o f charge.—B. — o — The Study Bible Romans Mrs. McCord has made a thorough study of the subject and in her concise, interesting way, sets forth the significance of the teachings o f the tabernacle. The importance o f this study is well shown in one of the author’s opening statements: “Only two consecutive chap ters in our Bible are given to the account of God’s great work in creation, while forty-three chapters are given to the tah- ernacle and its ceremonies.” Although the book is small (72 pages, heavy paper cover), nearly every phase of the tabernacle and its service is well covered, and applications o f truth to the Christian’s daily living abound.
