Where­ fore comfort one another with these words.” I, Thess. 4:16-18. Deadness to Self and Sin.— “ For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. Mor­ tify therefore your members which are upon the earth.” Col. 3:3-5. Endurance.— “ Behold, I come quick­ ly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Rev. 3:11. Faithfulness.— “ Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; and ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when He will re­ turn from the wedding; that, when He cometh and knocketh, they may open unto Him immediately. Be ye there­ fore ready also: for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” Luke 12:35-40. Godliness.— “ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness; looking for and hasting the coming of the day of God.” 2 Pet. 3:11, 12. Heavenly Mindedness.— “ Our citizen­ ship is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Phil. 3:20. Improvement of Our Time.— “Where­ fore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Pet. 1:13.
