organisateur de l’activité qui a fêté son 18e anniversaire dimanche. Rolland, 93 ans, et Lucien, 88 ans, vivent toujours sur la ferme familiale où ils ont grandi, en travaillant avec de l’équipement qui étaient exposé lors de l’événement au Centre d’action. «Cela était une bonne machine», a lancé Lucien Brisebois, faisant allusion à une presse à foin fabriquée en 1929. Avec l’aide d’un voisin, Justin Lavigne, les frères amènent leurs machines chaque année à l’exposition. Les frères conduisent encore aujourd’hui
des automobiles classiques. Lucien a une Plymouth Fury 3 1966, qui aurait franchi 1,6 million de miles. Rolland pour sa part conduit une Plymouth Volare 1976. Com- bien de miles? «Elle a fait le tour au moins deux fois», lance-t-il. L’exposition des an- tiques est parmi les événements les plus populaires de la région. «C’est grâce aux bénévoles que c’est un succès», a souligné Mme Lauzon. Encore cette année, environ 700 visiteurs ont été attirés par des collec- tions de tracteurs, de voitures, d’outils, d’en- gins et des travaux d’artisanat.

Police issue burglar alert
A warning has been issued by the Stor- mont-Dundas-Glengarry Ontario Provin- cial Police (OPP) detachment following a rash of burglaries in the district. On June 8, at 8:39 a.m., SD&G OPP offi- cers responded to a report of a break-in at a property on Main Street South, Alexandria. The home owners had observed a man leaving the residence upon their return from an outing. Cash and jewellery were taken. The suspect is described as male, 5’8”, husky build, wearing glasses and blue jacket. Between June 2 and 6, a residence on McCormick Road, North Glengarry was
forcibly entered. A water cooler, alarm clock and a train set were taken. On June 6 or 7, a home on Little Third Road in North Glen- garry Township was burglarized. The detachment urges homeowners to be proactive with the safety and security of their property with the following tips: keep landscaping in a condition that provides adequate visibility of the property and en- sure proper functioning lights; if away for extended periods of time, assign someone to look after the property; keep all locks and/or alarms updated and in proper work- ing order.
