in Elementary School because so many families are without fathers in the home and our boys need a male image in their lives.

Becoming a part of this fraternity has definitely been the highlight of my college career. That was not enough for me though, through the encour- agement of my brothers I was elected Polemarch. During my tenure the chapter has done great things such at winning Southern Province Small Chapter Website of the Year, earning the third highest GPA as a Chapter in the Southern Province, and hosting the chapters first Kappa Week in eight years. These are just a few experiences that I feel have shaped me into who I am, and without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.

My favorite part of Orlando (FL) Alumni’s Service

The favorite part of our service has been our brotherly social activities, fish fries, planning for our Black and White Ball, attending the Black and White Ball with my silhouette, socializing with the brothers and silhouettes at the hotel, giving service where I am needed. This year I was the Black History speaker for our chapter program. That was fun and an honor to be asked to be the speaker. Three distinct words to describe me: Competent, Reliable, Punctual • I want to get more information about programs that we can try in our chapter. • Gain ideas to retain brothers in our Chapter and reclaim brothers to the Chapter • Find out what the National Office is doing to keep the At the 83 rd Grand Chapter Meeting:

Journal: What motivates you?

Evans:

1. To defy the odds set against me. 2. To inspire the generation after me. 3. To live without any bound- aries.

Journal: What would you say is your life story? Evans: Born in 1995 at The Ohio State University is where I would say my life story begins. Raised by my mother, Desiree Evans, she made sure to instill characteristics in me that I would need as I went through life. In 2000 she decided to move to South Florida, where I would grow and develop into the man that I have become today. I was exposed to Kappa through two mentors that I had growing up Wayne Williams and Michael Moffett. They are a big rea- son that I decided to pursue Kappa when I got to college. The summer before my senior year of high school my mother lost her battle to cancer. But, before she was called home she had done everything to make sure I was prepared for college. Because of this I was able to receive acceptance letters from multiple colleges and universities. Due to fiscal needs I felt UCF would be the best option to further my education in accounting. While here I feel that I have done everything that I possibly could have.

Journal: What is your major?

Evans: Accounting.

brothers informed about their stand on political issues and concerns in the states and any foreign countries where there are Kappa chapters.

Journal: Where do you see yourself after graduation? Evans: Attending Grad School to obtain my Masters and then sit for my CPA. Journal: Can you discuss other com- munity service you are involved with on campus? Evans: I have a recently become a part of a Non-Profit chartered by my Line Brother, Kevin Louidor, called Tmrw Care, with the mission of giving back to less fortunate college stu- dents. It is an extension of my other Line Brother, Fabian Rene’s, company Tmrw Co.

I have enjoyed being a member of the Orlando (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. I have established close brotherly relations with so many brothers in the “Frat!” I will continue to serve in the Chapter for many more years!
